While Eric was living in the high desert of Central Oregon for six years, he continued photographing historical places, landscapes and other subjects that he encountered on location during day trips and the occasional two-day exploration.

Eric enrolled in painting, drawing, history, and other classes at Oregon State University-Cascades in Bend, Oregon (from 2008 to 2009). At the same time, he was pursuing his photography, researching Oregon ghost towns and painting outside of school.

Caption

Although he has returned to some places over the years (often with better cameras), many of the best shots were taken during the first visit, before things changed or disappeared. Still, each excursion had its successful photos, making it worthwhile to return to certain places, even if only when passing through.
